Because she is cute and I can't help myself!

My little Z!

Some of my favorite web designs

Here is a sampling of some of my favorite designs I've had the opportunity to work on.

BlueTone Media website (www.bluetonemedia.com) This site is a redesign from our old site. We updated our logo, and overall wanted to freshen up the look of our site. My favorite part of the home page is a technique I used on the photographs, called Tilt Shift in Photoshop. Here is a link to the tutorial: http://www.tuaw.com/2008/10/07/how-to-use-photoshops-lens-blur-tool-for-tilt-shift-fakery-par/

SurgeCare of Wilmington (www.surgcare.com) This is also a redesign. Their old site was outdated, difficult to navigate, and did not reflect the quality of their services. My main goal for this site was to create something that would have a very clean, professional look, yet be very inviting. The client also wanted some flash elements in the header and navigation.

East Coast Brickworks (http://eastcoastbrickwork.com) I am very happy with how this site turned out. I used a darker color palette to accentuate the photography on the site. On the home page, I saturated the colors and softened the edges of their photograph which I think gives a nice illustrative look. The client provided beautiful photography and we really wanted to emphasize that.

US Wick Drain (http://uswickdrain.com) This client came to us requesting a new logo and website. They wanted a very clean, professional look as well as a red, white and blue color palette. Their previous site was very dark and they wanted us to offer something fresher and more updated. We also created a flash animation to explain the drilling process.

Island Kite and Surf (http://islandkiteandsurf.com/) This site probably represents my personal style more then any other site I've worked on. Our client requested a single page site, so navigation will direct you further down the page vs to a new page. I went with a 70's beach theme based on their logo. I'm very happy with the colors and textures. And I used linear elements to help guide the visitor through the site.

Webinarium?

What is a webinarium?

Well, it's a term I made up. This blog will be a collection of various websites and other things I find that are interesting. It will be a combination of art, design, and pop culture. So, kind of like an aquarium on the web except instead of a tank holding fish, it will be a place to hold websites. Sometimes I will post a fun tutorial for designers, and other times I may post a link to a movie trailer that I'm looking forward to seeing. This blog will be constantly evolving, so this should be a fun journey.
